Mercia Park Community Fund revisited – In The Pink

IM Properties’ Mercia Park is a high-quality 238-acre employment park being created at Junction 11 of the M42 which includes a new 2.94 million sq ft global parts logistics centre for Jaguar Land Rover and a 450,000 sq ft sustainable logistics hub for freight forwarder DSV and is estimated over the long term to support up to 3400 jobs. To coincide with this development, IM Properties set up the £350,000 Mercia Park Community Fund to have a positive social value impact on the communities surrounding its scheme.

The grants of up to £5,000 are being primarily directed at projects which strengthen communities or improve the natural environment. Projects which have been successful range from a green gym to new sheds for community allotments.

IM Properties have been revisiting some of the Mercia Park Community Fund projects, managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, to see the positive impact the grants are making. Next up is In The Pink who received a £5985 grant from the Mercia Park Community Fund which went toward delivering a free eight-week Breast Cancer Rehabilitation programme. We caught up with Michelle to find out how the funding has helped with the delivery of such a much needed programme.
