IM Properties Team at Work

IM Group continues to Thrive with bronze award

IM Group in Solihull is one of the latest companies to demonstrate its commitment to making the West Midlands a better place to work, receiving a bronze Thrive award.

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Thrive initiative is designed to increase productivity across the region by promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace.

For the IM Group, the Thrive bronze award is the next step in futureproofing its business after moving to new £30m purpose-built offices in 2019, which were designed with employee wellness at its core.

The bronze accreditation demonstrates IM Group and its property division, IM Properties, are already performing to a high standard, with a framework in place to help it improve further.

Judi Wood Director of CSR said they were delighted to have received the award and gain recognition for the team in creating a great place to work.

‘We have the perfect setting to promote health and wellbeing here at The Gate. We have an on-site restaurant, a gym and outdoor areas which has enabled us to adopt healthy eating and wellness at work campaigns and create a better work-life balance for our employees.

“Working towards the bronze award has also been about ensuring we are listening harder to and acting upon the feedback of our teams, to improve what we are already doing and delivering in terms of wellness.

Judi continued. “Increasingly it’s understood that happy employees are more productive and being a value-led, family business we have always sought to look after people as well as giving something back to the communities we operate in.

“I think it’s certainly reflected by our retention levels, with a third of employees having been with IM Group for in excess of 10 years and some for the lifetime of the company, up to 45 years.

“Helping to attract and retain talent in the West Midlands is crucial for business and we are fully committed to the WMCA’s Thrive campaign and its long-term goals for the region.”

IM Group employs 500 people globally and creates thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the West Midlands through its automotive and property businesses.

Tatum Matharu, head of Thrive added: “It was evident from our robust accreditation process that IM Group puts the employee at the centre of everything it does, building family and family values into the core of how it operates.

“As with all those who achieve the Thrive at Work award, they were stretched and challenged in the process but are thoroughly deserving of their award and we at West Midlands Combined Authority celebrate their success as much as they do.

“Congratulations to Judi Wood and her team for what they have achieved and a tip of the hat to those who went before, creating an environment for them to build upon.”
