In just 6 months of 2005 1.1 million sq ft (102,190 sq m) of deals were completed on 78 acres amounting to £28 million of developments in progress - a record for the company. 2006 saw the completion of Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal - the most efficient container handling railhead in the region - developed on a 35 acre (14 ha) plot by IM Properties for Roadways Container Logistics.
2007 will see the completion of a 335,000 sq ft (3,251 sq m) distribution hub on a 24 acre (10 ha) plot for UPS the world’s largest package delivery company - the company’s second largest building in Europe.
Remaining design and build development opportunities for B1, B2, and B8 use range from 2 acres to 120 acres (0.11ha to 48ha) with rail served options.
At the heart of the national motorway network Birch Coppice is located 1/2 mile from Junction 10, M42, near Tamworth 15 1/2 miles north east of Birmingham. Often referred to as one of the strategic points of the Midlands 'Golden Triangle', Junction 10 of the M42 is a gateway to the West Midlands, with excellent access to the East Midlands and to the south and north of the country.
The location is a well established hub, and home to leading warehousing and distribution companies such as TNT, Safeway, Hellmann International, Cadbury Schweppes, Aldi Supermarkets and the BMW Rover engine plant is located at nearby Hams Hall. With access to a local labour pool with strong traditional skills, Birch Coppice is a prime location for business.
