Construction, fit out and management of BMW flagship logistics facility, including hub, warehouse, loading tunnel, cross dock facility and offices
IM Properties was chosen over a number of German competitors including internationally-renowned logistics providers to manage and deliver this flagship €26m facility in Munich
The project brings IM Properties’ investment in infrastructure alone at the former Colliery site to over £40 million over the past ten years, more than doubling employment on the site in its new state. Some 35 acres of the newly created Phase 2 has already been sold to Ocado for its first new Customer Fulfilment Centre which is currently under construction and set to create over 2,000 jobs. The remaining 50 acres provides up to 1.1 million sq ft of further design and build opportunities.
The hub is BMW’s largest non-production unit in its global portfolio and its delivery will coincide with the production and subsequent launch of the new BMW 3 and 7 Series vehicles from the nearby BMW plants in Bavaria. The assembly plant currently produces 1,200 vehicles per day and has some 18,000 employees.
IM Properties team members will be on the ground in Germany every week until the project is completed, ensuring seamless delivery of the challenging project.
Founded in 1987, IM Properties has amassed a substantial property portfolio amounting to £1bn across the UK, Europe and USA.
IM Properties' development team has a well-established track record as one of the Midlands' most active developers of large scale schemes.
